JC Capitals Bantam A2 Team Brings Home Tournament Title from Nashville

The Jefferson City Capitals Bantam A2 hockey team competed in the Country Western Showdown Hockey Tournament in Nashville, Tennessee on March 9-11, winning 4 games, outscoring their opponents 22-4, and bringing home the championship trophy in the Bantam A Division. 

On Friday the Capitals beat the Columbus, Ohio Blue Jackets by a score of 6-0.  The Capitals played the Affton Americans (St. Louis) on Saturday and came away with a 8-0 win.  On Sunday the Capitals played the Upper Arlington Golden Bears (Ohio) in the morning winning 4-2 and in the afternoon played Columbus again in the championship game and posted a 4-2 victory for first place.

For the tournament Brendan Roberts and Jason Leonberger scored 4 goals apiece; A. J. Lafave and Quintin Hull both tallied 3 goals; Chris LaCasse, Daniel Liu and Hawk Harris each notched 2 goals; while Jacob Rickman and Raymond Schmidt each had a goal.  Assists were credited to LaCasse (7), Rickman (3), Liu (3), Schmidt (2), Lafave (2), Hull (2), Lucus Hart (2), Roberts (1), and Jacob Addotta (1).  Keith Miller was in goal all 4 games for the Capitals and was credited with the two shut-outs.

The Capitals Bantam A2 team ended the season with 18 wins, 3 loses, and 4 ties.
